At Digiati, we are signatories to the Agile Manifesto. It's a simple act which defines our commitment to an Agile approach to software development and in short, it's something we believe in. Here it is:
"We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it. Through this work we have come to value:
Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
Working software over comprehensive documentation
Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
Responding to change over following a plan
Working software over comprehensive documentation
Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
Responding to change over following a plan
That is, while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more."
The Agile Manifesto is a simple collection of statements which together define a philosophical platform for developing software. Written in 2001, it is the culmination of argument, debate and discussion from leading representatives in the world of Extreme Programming, Scrum, DSDM, Adaptive Software Development, Crystal, Feature-Driven Development, Pragmatic Programming and other software development methodologies. It is the tip of the Agile ice-berg and understanding what is says, how it is written and why it was written at all is key to understanding modern software development.
